An Electron rocket of the American company Rocket Lab successfully launched two Earth remote sensing satellites of the American geospatial intelligence company BlackSky into orbit, & nbsp; Interfax reports.
The launch was carried out on Thursday from the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand. ERS spacecraft have become part of the orbital constellation, which by next year will have to consist of 16 satellites. Currently, there are 12 spacecraft in orbit.
It is noted that mini-ERS satellites provide optical images with a resolution of 50-90 centimeters from an altitude of 430 kilometers.
The first Rocket Lab rocket launched in May 2017, but the cargo was not delivered to orbit. On May 15 this year, the launch of the Electron rocket also ended in failure, the specialists failed to put the satellites into orbit.
The current mission was the 23rd flight of the Electron rocket. The number of satellites launched into orbit by Rocket Lab has reached 109 devices.
