Story Coronavirus pandemic of a new type that spread from China
Prime Minister of the Cook Islands Mark Brown announced that the first case of coronavirus infection was detected in the country, TASS reports.
It is reported that an infected citizen of the country who arrived on February 10 from New Zealand , was isolated immediately after the confirmation of the diagnosis, but before that he managed to visit several bars and nightclubs, as well as a bank branch and a supermarket. international professionals and groups of students, as well as holders of humanitarian visas, temporary visas for relatives and those arriving for part-time work during the holidays.
In January, it was reported that the authorities of Australia allowed the vaccinated Sputnik V to enter the country. The Australian regulator noted that the drug from the Russian Federation showed 89% effectiveness against coronavirus infection.
The weather with variable cloudiness and black ice is expected in Moscow on Tuesday, February 15, according to the official website of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation.
According to weather forecasts, during the day the air temperature in the capital will be from zero to plus two degrees. On Wednesday night, the temperature in the city can drop to minus five.
In the Moscow region, it is expected to be from minus two to plus three degrees during the day. At night, temperatures in the region can drop to minus eight degrees.
Southwest wind with gusts of up to 15 meters per second. Atmospheric pressure will be about 752 millimeters of mercury.
Earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center also told whether Russians should wait for early spring.
February 11, Anatoly Chubais, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Relations with International Organizations on Sustainable Development, at a government meeting chaired by the first Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousovindeed stated that a new tax ($100 per ton of carbon dioxide) should be introduced and “it will be a completely different life.”
What is carbon dioxide? This is what each of us exhales in a volume of 15 to 20 liters per hour. This is how the tax on air turns out.
What helps the planet to “greener”?
However, the media have repeatedly written that Anatoly Chubais was famous for his ability to create a cash flow literally out of thin air.
Ten years — from 1998 to 2008 — he headed the Unified Energy Systems of Russia. Outcome? There is no more unity of power systems. True, at that time he did not fight so actively with carbon dioxide, because technological processes at power plants cannot even be imagined without this gas — as, for example, agriculture, oil refining or cement production. The period of Chubais in the leadership of “Rosnano” generally ended with huge debts for the state corporation, and, according to data published by the media in November 2021, over 700 million rubles were spent on the salary of its head over the past 6 years.
Experts are concerned that the fight against carbon dioxide gas will be about the same — first, victorious reports and publications on the effectiveness of the measures proposed by Chubais, and then holes will begin to be found in the budgets of all levels, one more than the other.
Where did this carbon dioxide issue come from? A decade and a half ago, US Vice President Al Gore began to speak everywhere with the concept of global warming, which allegedly occurs due to greenhouse gases, the most important of which is carbon dioxide. Gore received the Nobel Prize for this and huge fees, reaching $ 100,000 per hour — and then just disappeared from the scene.
But many liked the idea, and not at all for “environmental reasons”: under the pretext of fighting for the salvation of mankind, it is possible to hit the economies of competing countries and artificially reduce the price of energy carriers, the use of which emits carbon dioxide. All this can be ideally sold under the sauce “green” energy or transition to future technologies. Behind the scenes, however, remains the fact that the “green” in wind turbines or solar panels a little. Quite the contrary, because carbon dioxide — it is food for trees and plants, i.e. exactly what helps our planet to turn green.
Many people are not ready for the energy transition
It is no coincidence that President of the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute» Mikhail KovalchukOn February 8, on the Day of Russian Science, he said at a meeting with the President of the country that “the ozone hole has been on our lips for many years, and then ten years have passed — everything disappeared, everything was replaced, freon with other components, and everything — The ozone hole is no more. It is obvious that in all this there is a significant political and economic background and, frankly, unfair competition.
You need to understand that the energy transition is very expensive — even for countries whose economies are larger than Russia and are not affected by sanctions. Suffice it to say that a recently published study, in which representatives of the largest companies participated, showed that many of them are not ready for the energy transition. And this is taking into account the fact that 68% of respondents represented European and American businesses!
It is not surprising that at the meeting where Chubais expressed his point of view, Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov said that haste in these matters is contraindicated, that it is necessary to work out all the mechanisms and see how the concept of emission quotas will work as part of a pilot project for Sakhalin island. “The consequences, the price of a mistake, can be quite severe. We will discuss this issue for a long, long time,” he said.
There is something to discuss — but Chubais is in a hurry, predicting that we will fall behind the world economy, that we need to introduce new fees now, immediately. Question only — why? Let us turn again to Mikhail Kovalchuk: “Today our country has an energy system, the carbon footprint of which, when generated, is one of the lowest in the world. In the Russian energy balance, the share of low-carbon sources — 86 percent, of which 45 percent — gas generation, and 41 percent — nuclear and hydropower.
And now the question is: why a new tax if our energy system has one of the best results in the world in terms of carbon dioxide emissions? Maybe it's a tax just for the sake of generating new cash flow?
Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the cargo ship “Progress” launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome to the International Space Station. The broadcast is on the Roscosmos website.
This is the first launch from Baikonur in 2022. Docking with the ISS is scheduled for 10:08 Moscow time on February 17.
In total, the spacecraft will spend 370 days in space.
«Progress» will deliver to the ISS, in particular, on-board resource equipment, cable ducts for retrofitting the Nauka module, consumables for the life support system, medical control and sanitary and hygienic equipment, clothes and food for astronauts. In addition, the cargo ship will bring 430 kg of fuel components, 420 liters of drinking water and 40 kg of compressed nitrogen in cylinders.
The total volume of dry cargo that will be delivered to the station is about 1,600 kg.
Earlier it was reported that delivery beluga, cranberries and caviar will be sent to cosmonauts on the ISS.
Also, Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov told about the condition after an hour and a half of work in outer space.
Recall, NASA suggested that the operation of the international space station will last until 2030, then in January 2031 it will be flooded into the ocean.
Calculations of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) “Hurricane” and “Grad” carried out firing at artillery targets of a mock enemy at the Opuk training ground in Crimea, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the head of the press service of the Southern Military District, Colonel Vadim Astafyev.
The military fired at targets that imitated artillery of a mock enemy at a distance of over 30 kilometers, which ensured safe removal during a retaliatory strike.
Among other things, the gunners hit single and group targets, as well as the command posts of a mock enemy. This had to be done as quickly as possible and with minimal consumption of ammunition, using single and massive methods of firing.
Guidance and adjustment of the fire of rocket artillery batteries was carried out using the calculations of Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Practical firing of rocket artillery crews was carried out as part of the planned field exit of the missile troops and artillery units of the army corps of the Southern Military District.
Earlier it was reported that over 30 ships of the Black Sea Fleet went to sea to participate in the exercises. During the maneuvers, naval formations, units of coastal troops and fleet aviation will strike at sea, coastal and air targets.
Also in February, Russian and Belarusian fighters practiced air combat. Joint flights as part of the exercises took place near Baranovichi.

In Severodvinsk, the court completed the consideration of the criminal case against the cohabitants of Anna Victoria GromovichandArtem Lavrentievfor cruelty to animals with a demonstration on the Internet. According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, both were found guilty of torturing the cat Kuzya to death.
A criminal case under article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (cruelty to animals) was initiated in October 2021 . On December 7 last year, the preliminary investigation was completed, the first hearing on the case was held on December 20, and three more hearings were held in 2022.
What decision did the court make?
Gromovich was given 3 years and 2 months in a colony-settlement, and Lavrentiev — 3 years and 6 months in a general regime colony. The court also found the man guilty of stealing a bank card from his mother.
Earlier victim in the — owner of the cat Kuzi Elena Lavrentieva — asked the court for a real term for the accused, including her son. In addition, the woman said that Gromovich repeatedly threatened to kill both her and her daughter, Artem Lavrentyev's sister, Olga. Evidence was presented in court — details of calls and sms-messages with threats.
What were Gromovich and Lavrentiev convicted of?
The cohabitants received real terms for the brutal murder of the kidnapped cat Kuzi. According to the investigation, the flayers abused the pet from July 1 to August 31, 2021. They stole a 14-year-old cat from the man's mother and abused him, filming their actions on video and posting videos on social networks. During the court session, it was established that the convicts, using household items as tools for committing a crime, acted with particular cruelty and caused pain and suffering to the cat. According to the results of the examination, Kuzya died of heart paralysis, which could have been caused by a long stay in a stressful situation.
After what happened in several dozen Russian cities, an action called “Signature for Kuzya” was held. The initiative was supported by more than 200 thousand people. The participants of the action demanded to condemn the cohabitants to 5 years in prison.
Did the knackers admit their guilt?
Speaking with the last word, Gromovich pleaded completely guilty, apologized for distributing the videos to the public, but not to the owner of the animal, Elena Lavrentieva. The prosecution regarded this moment and the previous actions of the flayer as a lack of remorse.
Lavrentyev, who is accused of stealing seven thousand rubles from his mother, returned four thousand to Elena Lavrentyeva, and together with them transferred another thousand rubles as compensation for murder of Kuzi.

And this is how the full jury of the VIII contest “The Most Beautiful Country” looks like:
February 16, 1722 Peter the Greatissued a decree on succession to the throne, which abolished the custom of passing the throne to direct descendants in the male line. According to the decree, the emperor could appoint a successor at his own discretion: “So that this is always in the will of the Ruling Sovereign, to whom he wants, to determine the inheritance …” But it turned out that Peter himself did not make a will.
A successor without a throne
Peter's decree broke the centuries-old foundations and the procedure for transferring royal power from father to son. And the decree itself was the result of Peter's struggle with his son Tsarevich Alexei, around whom the opposition was grouped. After the abdication and death of Alexei in 1718, the infant son of Peter also died from his second marriage. In accordance with the traditions, the son of Tsarevich Alexei and Princess Charlotte, also called Peter, but he was formally deprived of the right to the throne. Peter I referred to his decree of 1714 on single inheritance, allowing fathers to inherit their property not only to their eldest son. And he gave examples from Russian history. In particular, the appointment of Ivan III as heirs, first of his grandson Dmitry, and then of his son Vasily.
To explain the “foolish people” new procedure for the transfer of royal power, already in August 1722, a book by the theologian and philosopher Feofan Prokopovich “The Truth of the Will of the Monarchs” was published, in which he explained and justified the emperor's right to dispose of the future of the state: “How can a father deprive his son inheritance, and the sovereign — throne.
Svara at the throne
Since the principle of succession to the throne by seniority, natural for Russia, was interrupted, the overthrow of the supreme power no longer looked like an attempt on its divinity. And the increase in the number of contenders for the throne only intensified the struggle of rival factions in the then elite. The coming to power in 1725 of the widow of Peter the Great Catherine I for the Russian Empire was a real shock. For the first time, a woman ascended the throne, and even a foreigner of low origin.
On May 7, 1727, the day after the death of Empress Catherine, members of the imperial family, the Supreme Privy Council, the Synod and the Senate gathered. The actual ruler of the country Alexander Menshikov announced the existence of the will of the Empress. The first paragraph of the will stated that the Grand Duke Pyotr Alekseevich, the grandson of Peter I, was declared emperor. However, he can take the throne only after reaching a certain age (at that time he was 11 years old). Another clause of the will was announced: Emperor Peter II was obliged to marry one of Menshikov's daughters.
However, the young emperor died suddenly in 1730 (at the age of 14), without having determined a successor. After that, the Supreme Privy Council elected the niece of Peter I Anna Ioannovna as empress. Before her death, she appointed as successors Ioann Antonovich, who formally reigned in infancy from October 1740 to November 1741 under the regency of the favorite Anna Ioannovna Biron and her mother, the granddaughter of brother Peter I Anna Leopoldovna. The baby king was overthrown by “Petrov's daughter” Elizabeth. Elizabeth's heir was appointed her nephew Peter Fedorovich (Peter III). In 1762, he lost his throne and life after a palace coup, arranged with the support of the guards, by his wife Ekaterina Alekseevna, who became Empress Catherine II.
“I want to reign!”
The Russian reality of the 18th century showed that under an absolute monarchy, when the personality of the emperor was of great importance, the method of succession to the throne established by Peter I undermined the stability of state administration and served as one of the reasons for palace coups. “By depriving the supreme power of its lawful establishment and throwing its institutions to the wind, — wrote historian Vasily Klyuchevsky. — By this law (Charter on the succession to the throne), Peter also extinguished his dynasty as an institution: there were individuals of royal blood without a definite dynastic position. So the throne was left to chance and became a toy. Since then, for several decades, the throne has not been without confusion…
Paul I, who took the throne after the death of Catherine II, on the day of his coronation on April 16, 1797, signed a decree on succession to the throne, finally then canceled the dangerous Peter's norm. The decree introduced inheritance by law, “so that the state would not be without heirs, so that the heir was always appointed by the law itself, so that there was not the slightest doubt who would inherit.” Paul wanted to exclude in the future the possibility of arbitrariness and the removal of legitimate heirs from power. The text of the decree was developed by Paul during the life of Catherine II.
However, the new principles were not accepted for a long time not only by the noble society, but also by the members of the imperial family themselves. By a bitter irony of fate, after the assassination of Pavel, his widow Maria Feodorovna, who worked with her husband on the text of the decree on succession, declared in her hearts: “I want to rule!”
What was used against the Americans
The US military attache was summoned to the Ministry of Defense in connection with the incident in Russian territorial waters. According to the Russian military department, a US Navy submarine of the Virginia type in the Kuril ridge area violated the Russian maritime border and our military sailors had to expel it from the country's territorial waters. About how Russian sailors could do this, “MK” was told by a military expert, captain 1st rank in the reserve Vladimir Gundarov.
According to our Ministry of Defense, after the American submarine was discovered near the Russian island of Urup, its crew was given a request to immediately surface via voice communication in Russian and English. But the Americans ignored this legal requirement. Then the crew of the Admiral Shaposhnikov frigate used military means against the intruder, as required by the documents on the protection of the state border.
As a result, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the American submarine “used a self-propelled simulator to split the target on radar and acoustic control and left the territorial waters of the Russian Federation with maximum speed.
Vladimir Gundarov spoke in more detail about what kind of maneuver it was and what the Russian sailors could use:
– I must say right away that this is fantastic arrogance on the part of the Americans. Our sailors acted correctly.
With regard to the funds used. During the Cuban Missile Crisis and the naval blockade of Cuba, American ships forced five of the six Soviet submarines on combat duty on the approaches to Liberty Island to surface in the open ocean. To do this, they used depth charges in the area where Soviet submarines were located.
Russian sailors in this case, even in our territorial waters, of course, did not use weapons. Firstly, now is not the situation to just brandish torpedoes and bombs. Secondly, the rules for the use of weapons in such cases are listed point by point in a special decree of the Russian government, which notes that weapons are used as a last resort in a direct attack.
Based on the history of many years of practice of such peaceful “battles”, the most effective way in similar cases is a hydroacoustic strike. Imagine that you are sitting in an iron barrel being pounded with a sledgehammer. So, when the hydroacoustic direction finding equipment is turned on in the active mode, the feeling is just that.
There is no longer even a need to transmit a warning via acoustic underwater communication about detection. It is clear to the entire crew: the boat has been spotted. And the next command in such cases sounds: “Weapon ready for battle.”
Hydroacoustics on a submarine perfectly hear how the outer covers of the torpedo tubes open with a knock on the enemy boat. And with the help of radio intelligence, you can get information about the physical preparation of weapons for use. Since the Americans themselves are scaring the world with the “Russian threat”, it is quite excusable for them to retreat from the dangerous area. And they did the right thing by leaving the tervods, because further stay in them could end up being forced to ascend and a development of events unpleasant for them.
Aide to the President Ushakov revealed the details of his conversation with the head of the United States
Aide to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov told reporters about the content of the conversation between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden. He stressed that the main issue was to provide legal security guarantees for the Russian Federation.
According to Ushakov, the call took place “in an atmosphere of unprecedented escalation” and “artificial hysteria” about the allegedly imminent invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.
“Referring to the likelihood of this catastrophic scenario, the Americans requested a conversation ahead of schedule,” Ushakov said. noting that it was scheduled to take place on Monday 14 February. He noted that other members of the US administration also requested conversations with their Russian counterparts.
“The escalation around the topic of the (Russian) invasion was coordinated, and the hysteria reached its climax,” the presidential aide emphasized.
Ushakov added that the Kremlin does not understand why it is necessary to transmit deliberately false information about Russia's plans to invade Ukraine to the media.
Biden, according to Ushakov, said that he is a supporter of the diplomatic path of conflict resolution and believes that “it is necessary to do everything possible to avoid the worst scenario around Ukraine.” He outlined his thoughts to Vladimir Putin, which, in his opinion, take into account the Russian proposals for ensuring security guarantees.
“The Russian side will carefully analyze the expressed considerations,” Ushakov said, noting that it is already clear that Biden's considerations do not affect key elements of Russian initiatives regarding NATO.
Many of the steps that Biden announced, according to him , are contained in the responses already received by the Kremlin on January 26 from Washington.
Ushakov added that Biden also “expectedly mentioned the expected tough anti-Russian sanctions, but they were not the focus.”
As for Putin, he outlined in detail the approaches of the Russian side, and explained why right now it is necessary to resolve issues on which the security of Russia depends.
Putin, according to Ushakov, drew attention to the danger of militarization of Ukraine and pumping it with weapons, and also announced the likelihood of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO if Ukraine becomes a member of the alliance.
The presidential aide also said that Moscow's response to the ideas expressed by Biden would be brought to the public in the near future veins.
NATO withdraws troops, no-fly zone declared
The media hysteria surrounding the far-fetched threat of a “Russian attack” on Ukraine seems to have backfired. At the very least, users on the Web do not show fear of the “imminent threat of invasion” and war, but an ironic attitude towards everything that happens.
Photo: Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
Many netizens are asking the United States to postpone the announced “date of the attack” from February 15-16 to some other day, since they are busy on these days: they signed up for makeup, have planned important purchases or are visiting.
Others open a sweepstake. “We're taking bets on an invasion. I am for 02/22/2022, the figure is painfully beautiful! ”, – wrote one of the people of Kiev.
In connection with the mass exodus of foreign diplomats from Kiev, the following joke appeared: “What is the right way to “in” Ukraine or “in” Ukraine? That's right, “from” Ukraine! The US Embassy knows for sure!”
Many people remember the scene from “Gentlemen of Fortune”: “What society are you from, comrades? – Labor reserves. – And what, Dynamo runs? – Everyone is running.
There is indeed a lot of humor in the flight of diplomats. What is worth, for example, the recommendation of the government of Iraq addressed to compatriots, where almost a day does not pass without a terrorist attack, to leave Ukraine? Well, or the same recommendation of the authorities of the Bahamas.
The following variations immediately appeared on the network: “The government of Ukraine recommended that citizens urgently leave the country due to the threat of invasion.”
Washington and London announced about the urgent evacuation of their military instructors from Ukraine. Almost like in Afghanistan last year. Many reacted to this in the following way: Russia, without even starting a war, achieved its goal – NATO's military infrastructure is gradually dumping from the “square”. At the same time, the chances of Ukraine joining NATO become illusory.
Well, foreign airlines one after another cancel flights to Ukraine. Why not a no-fly zone.
It seems that only the former comedian, and now the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, is not in the mood for jokes. In his address to his compatriots, he fearfully declares: “I can say that today there is no full-scale war in our country. I speak as a president who has real information. We also have intelligence, which, in my opinion, works no worse than the intelligence of foreign powers.”

A 100-second standing on nails marked the centennial anniversary of a record-breaking grandmother from Belgorod.
«In 40 years, life is just beginning», — categorically declared the hero of the famous film. But for someone it starts in 50 or even in 63. The fate ofMaria Koltakovalaunched a new round in… 93. Although it could have stopped during the Great Patriotic War.
Then the parents received a funeral from the front: “Your daughter died on December 19, 1942” in the & nbsp; battles for & nbsp; Voronezh. But on September 8, 1945, she, twice wounded and shell-shocked, with orders and medals, returned home. «So, I will live long» — said Masha, tearing up the funeral sheet.
70 years later, in honor of the anniversary of the Great Victory, Maria Denisovna Koltakova bravely jumped with a parachute from a height of 3 thousand m. A veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a participant in the Battle of Kursk, jumped without any certificates and permits. In 93 years. Forgetting about sick joints and disability of the 1st group. I jumped because I dreamed. And because this jump was vital for her.
In childhood, Masha passionately wanted to be like older brother — in large family Eugenewas an example for everyone. He jumped with a parachute, became a fearless paratrooper. «Grow up — you will jump too», — he said, tapping the baby's nose.
Masha grew up, enrolled in Osoaviakhim, became a Voroshilov shooter. And the whole war went through — from Voronezh to Prague. As part of the 303rd Siberian Volunteer Division, then the 122nd Guards Rifle Division, she rescued the wounded and restored broken telephone communications.

She shared her blood
C medical instructor Maria carried out 300 wounded fighters and commanders from the battlefield. Even many years after the war, they found her to thank her for the gift of life. After all, she shared her blood with someone.
Maria Denisovna dedicated the first jump (later to make two more) to her beloved brother, who died in the Soviet-Japanese, on the Kuriles. Although in preparation, it seemed that everyone and was against her. And not just doctors. Even Koltakova's associate Olga was agitated: maybe it's really not worth the risk? The bones are fragile, the age is too serious…
They arrived at the Crimean mountain Uzun-Syrt — the hangar is open, no one around. And only a wheelchair stands alone. "Where is everyone?" — grandma was surprised. — "In sky". — "And whose stroller?" — “She is for those who land unsuccessfully.”
The Guards foreman of the medical service Koltakova frowned. I’m not used to retreating, but here they scare me with a stroller. Suddenly bright domes appeared in the sky — The Paralympians have landed. And a happy boy with empty sleeves ran past the veteran. “Was it scary?” — asked Maria Denisovna. — "Nah".
«A my arms and legs are intact. Well I can't jump? — she judged and, putting down her cane, with which for many years she had already become related, got on the plane.
That jump with a parachute of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War was entered in the Russian Book of Records. But to imagine that there would be more recordings, besides related to extreme sports, Maria Denisovna couldn't And nobody could! Only when, three years later, there were 7 records, Koltakova was already smiling slyly: “Well, now we need to bring it to & nbsp; 10.”
>Maria Denisovna approached the 100th anniversary in January 2022 with overfulfillment of her plans. Having set 16 national records since 2015 What didn't she do! She flew in a air balloon and in wind tunnel, deltaplane, jet aircraft and glider (at altitude of 1 thousand m, with execution of a dead loop","barrel" and "corkscrew" ;). She was engaged in diving, karting, rode sledges and on tanks. She rode a bike with Night Wolves , participated in shooting competitions and in racing buggies along the ridge of Mount Piket in Sochi. Where hasn't she been yet? What heights and depths have you not reached?
However, set as many records as possible — not an end in itself. And certainly not a whim. Maria Denisovna performs every act with meaning. For example, a 45-minute flight in a balloon over the long-suffering Prokhorovka was carried out in honor of the anniversary of the liberation of Belgorod from fascists.
Jet flight 99-year-old Maria Denisovna dedicated Ossetian Fedor, a participant in the Battle of Kursk Dzgoev, who liberated Belgorod and died during the war. The flight on L-29 with a military pilot of the 1st class Colonel Aslan Tsaruev took place in North Ossetia at altitude 3 thousand m. Complex aerobatics were performed: combat turn, “barrel”, “slide”. But the record holder grandmother and this was not enough. “I am captivated by the beauty of the Caucasus Mountains! — she confessed after landing. — Sorry, not enough. It was necessary to rise higher, into the stratosphere.
And diving in the pool of the sports complex together with divers became for Maria Denisovna overcoming herself. All her life she has been terribly afraid of water, she never learned to swim.
A long time ago, when she was 1.5 years old, the family crossed the Yenisei — relatives moved to & nbsp; Siberia from & nbsp; Penza province. They walked for a long time. Tired. Grandmother put little Masha on the bridge. She didn't have time to blink an eye as she ended up in the water. Grandmother — in scream, in tears. The mother and older children were numb. Only the father was not at a loss. He took off his boots, sweatshirt — and jumped into the fast cold river. After that, he came down with pneumonia, and Masha — at least henna! Relatives then often joked about the girl: “Well, in the water you definitely won’t drown.” And heard from her: and I will not burn in the fire".
Maria Denisovna loves to read poetry and cannot live without songs. But the main thing for her — motion. Some probably condemn the veteran: why does she need a risk, for which not every young and healthy organism is ready. “Why do I need this? — looks with surprise at dumb Koltakov. — To live. Anything is better than sitting in front of the TV and counting the days when the “oblique” will come for you. And corrects those who call her iron grandmother: "Iron rusts. And I not iron, I steel!»
She survived the early death of her son, raised her own daughter and five other people's children (family life also turned out to be with ). And during the pandemic, she mastered the Internet and now shares her stories with Instagram subscribers.
On the day of the 100th anniversary, Maria Koltakova, holder of the Orders of Glory and the Patriotic War, stood barefoot on nails for 100 seconds. But, having barely celebrated the anniversary, she began to think about new achievements — for example, about going underground with miners. Or about the sailing regatta: while the number was being made up, the “steel grandmother” received an invitation to participate. And is already preparing to test his strength again: «I still in It's too early to write me off».
According to the Ministry of Defense, on February 12, 2022, at 10:40 Moscow time, a US Navy submarine of the Virginia type was discovered in the area of the exercise of the Pacific Fleet forces in the territorial waters of Russia in the area of the Urup Island of the Kuril ridge. The message “You” are in the territorial waters of Russia was transmitted to the submarine. Surface immediately! After these demands were ignored, the crew of the frigate of the Pacific Fleet “Marshal Shaposhnikov” appropriate means have been applied. The American submarine used a self-propelled simulator to double the target on the means of radar and acoustic control and left the territorial waters of Russia with maximum speed. AiF.ru found out what are the features of this most secretive American submarine and why it was discovered.

Submarines of the Virginia type have been made for the US Navy since 1999 , the lead — SSN-774 Virginia — entered service in 2004 year. Over the past 13 years, the fleet has received 15 boats of three series, four are at various stages of construction. In total, it is planned to build 48 submarines, 33 of — until 2030 They should completely replace the Los Angeles-class submarines in the fleet. and "Enhanced Los Angeles" 1970-1990s.
A 100-meter submarine with a displacement of 7800 tons accelerates under water to 32 knots. Crew of 132 persons. In & nbsp; the central part of the submarine is equipped with a lock chamber designed for the exit of divers-saboteurs. Additional radars are located along sides, and in stern — towed antennas, which allows you to monitor the situation under water in all directions. It is noteworthy that the boat does not have a classic periscope. Instead — photoelectronic masts, broadcasting the image to monitors in command compartment.
The submarine's arsenal contains 12 vertical launchers or two revolver-type launchers for Tomahawk missiles, and also four 533-mm torpedo tubes for Harpoon anti-ship missiles, Mk 48 torpedoes or mines. Structurally, it is possible to “increase” boat — weld in an additional section with launchers, increasing the arsenal by another 28 Tomahawks.
Spy equipment equipment
In addition to standard weapons, the boat also has equipment for special operations — uninhabited submersibles, an airlock for light divers, a deck mount for a container or midget submarine. These tools are suitable for reconnaissance and sabotage operations.
Why was discovered?
The Americans consider these submarines to be the most armed, secretive and reliable in the world. By conventional standards, this is a compact submarine. This reduces noise by reducing the surface area of the case washed by water. The hulls are "made with the use of noise-absorbing coatings and low-noise movers — they are perfect for spy missions. “Virginia” equipped with a pump-type hydrojet propulsion unit and a powerful AN/BQQ-10 hydroacoustic complex. This is the so-called “Archimedean screw”, which allows you to significantly reduce noise compared to traditional screws, however, at the cost of low speed.
However, the boat is single-hull — its strong body is not covered from the outside by a second, lightweight shell body. Because of this, the fairings of some of the systems protrude outside the hull and form bubbles, the noise from their collapse can give the boat acoustics.
490 years ago, Anastasia Zakharyina-Yuryeva (later – Romanova) was born, who became known as the first wife of Ivan the Terribleand the mother of the Tsar >Fyodor Ioannovich.
“Moscow was numb in fear. Blood poured out; victims wailed in dungeons, in monasteries, but & hellip; tyranny was still maturing: the present terrified the future."».
This is how the historian Nikolai Karamzin describedTsar Ivan IV the Terrible, as he became after the introduction of the oprichnina in 1565. Five years before that, the very young first wife of the sovereign died – queen Anastasia. She was 28 years old.
Her departure greatly influenced Ivan. If Anastasia managed to restrain the unbridled temper of the king, now he has gone into all serious trouble. The era of cruelty, atrocities, tyranny began. The reign was more like a theater of horrors, and the ruler himself appeared before the people as a man “insatiable in murders and lust.”
Perplexed, the researcher Karamzin is trying to find an answer to the question: “Is it likely that the beloved, adored sovereign could fall from such a height of good, happiness, glory into the abyss of the horrors of tyranny?”
What was the first wife Ivan the Terrible, whose death so changed the tsar?
“The personal virtues of the bride justified this choice”
Anastasia was born in the family of the boyar Roman Yuryevich Zakharyin-Koshkin (under Tsar Vasily III he served as a roundabout) in 1532 (according to other sources – in 1530). The uncle of the future queen was the guardian of the young Ivan Vasilyevich.
At the age of 16, Ivan IV came to marry the kingdom. Then, according to tradition, he should have married. Ivan did not want to take a foreigner. And he decided to arrange a bride of Russian girls, as his father Vasily III once did. “Noble dignitaries, courtiers, clerks traveled around Russia to see all the noble girls and present the best brides to the sovereign,” Karamzin later described the process.

According to various sources, from 500 to 1500 girls participated in the competition. A pretty face with regular features, large green eyes and slightly swarthy skin liked Ivan Vasilyevich more than others. Anastasia was not only attractive, but also intelligent; was distinguished by a soft and humble character; she was chaste and pious. They don't look for good from good, the king probably decided. “The personal virtues of the bride justified this choice,” Karamzin testified.
“She ruled him with amazing meekness and intelligence”
On February 3, 1547, the marriage of Ivan Vasilyevich was concluded in the Kremlin and Anastasia Romanovna. The sacrament of the wedding was performed by Metropolitan Macarius of Moscow.
Unfortunately, the tsar's choice of unevenness was not to the liking of the boyars. However, the chroniclers noted: “the kind Anastasia instructed and led John to all sorts of virtues.”
“This Queen was so wise, virtuous, pious and influential that all her subordinates revered and loved her. The Grand Duke was young and quick-tempered, but she ruled him with amazing meekness and intelligence, ”said the English diplomat Jerome Garsay.
Later, historians will suggest that only Anastasia Romanovna was and beloved wife of Ivan the Terrible, and the one whose opinion he listened to.
The marriage was considered successful. According to contemporaries, Anastasia and John were ideally suited to each other. The queen did not interfere in politics and in general in the affairs of her husband. She was meek, humble, peaceful. Only she could cope with his selfishness and temper, turning the negative into good.
But not all boyars, to put it mildly, liked such an influence on the tsar. Even the confessor of the sovereign Sylvester tried to quarrel the spouses. True, in vain.
13 years of happiness and love
Anastasia devoted all her time to home and children. Unfortunately, only two of the six reached adulthood – Ivanand Fyodor.
Together with other needlewomen, the queen sewed covers and shrouds, and embroidered. In Russian museums, you can see works by the workshop of Empress Anastasia. Luxurious materials, high artistic merit, historicity – all this testified to the impeccable taste and great talent of the wife of Ivan the Terrible.
Unfortunately, the king and queen lived only 13 years. But these were 13 years of love, happiness, peace and harmony. They said that Anastasia had an apoplexy. And for what reason? Either health was undermined by frequent childbirth and consumption. Either her ill-wishers poisoned her…
A quarter of a century he tried to find a replacement for Anastasia
Four and a half centuries later, in 2000, a study was made of the remains of Empress Anastasia. Experts found mercury, lead and arsenic in her braid and scraps of clothing. Moreover, in large quantities…
But it seems that Ivan Vasilyevich also knew this. Otherwise, it is unlikely that his revenge on the poisoners was so terrible. The tsar blamed the former advisers for the death of his beloved wife – priest Sylvester and okolnichy, governor Alexei Adashev.
The death of his wife caused him a nervous breakdown and affected his state of mind in general. At the funeral, the tsar could hardly stand on his feet and sobbed uncontrollably. Then he became unbearably cruel, a real tyrant, a monster. He became formidable. Although “stick” this nickname came to him much later.
For the remaining 24 years, Ivan Vasilyevich tried to find a replacement for Anastasia. The main criterion in the selection was beauty. But historians, it seems, even today have not decided on the number of wives of Ivan the Terrible. He was married according to the laws of Orthodoxy with only three, including the first – Anastasia. And no one else managed to soften his soul.
Reuters: The West is “discussing” the option of sanctions against Russia with the country disconnected from SWIFT The interlocutor of the agency noted that Europe needs to be careful, as this option could further aggravate the split with Russia
Russian MFA: “invasion” story is coordinated from Washington, many media outlets go for broke According to Zakharova, the media coverage of the Russian invasion story is “unprecedented”, and many Western media outlets are coordinated directly from Washington
The story of the imminent “invasion” Russia to Ukraine is coordinated from Washington, and many media outlets “go for broke” in this regard. About this on the air of the YouTube channel «SolovievLive» said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.
“The media support, I would say, is unprecedented, because all Western resources that position themselves as independent, who now exclusively serve this ordered story from Washington, have been exposed,” — she said.
According to her, many media outlets are already “going all-in” and no one is hiding “this conglomerate” that everyone is now watching. “First of all, of course, the Bloomberg agency, which once pretended to be and was, by the way, a financial analyst, is in the forefront here, now [it] has simply moved into a clear service,” — added Zakharova.
The representative of the Foreign Ministry also pointed out that the story of the removal of the British flag from the embassy in Kiev is part of the information “parade-alle” about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Zakharova noted that in the West, instead of immediately announcing the evacuation of their diplomatic staff from Ukraine, they began to talk about the fact that Russia had taken the embassy out of Kiev because of Moscow’s alleged preparation of an “invasion”. “And it (the Russian embassy) continues to work. And this is all the parade-alle, which is part of the information and political provocative activity, — she explained.
The aggravation of the situation in the east of Ukraine has been going on since the fall of last year, when such media as The Wasgington Post, Politico, The New York Times and the Associated Press began to report that Russia was preparing an invasion of Ukraine. After that, Western and Ukrainian politicians joined the accusations. The dates of the invasion were also repeatedly called. So, on February 12, Politico, citing a source in the administration of US President Joe Biden, reported that the American leader announced a Russian invasion scheduled for February 16.
In addition, on the night of February 4-5, Bloomberg published headline “Russia invades Ukraine.” The agency then deleted the publication, acknowledged the mistake and explained that it had preparations for many scenarios— the headline about the invasion was posted by accident.
Commenting on the Bloomberg publication, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that this situation reflects the danger of aggressive statements by Western countries. “Probably, we will now, you can even say not fake news, but bloomberg news, which will be justified,” — he said.
On the same day, the German newspaper Bild, citing intelligence data, published a plan allegedly developed by the Russian authorities for the period after the alleged invasion. This scenario, according to the publication, includes the creation of a “people's” happy puppet government and camps for resisting the pro-Russian government. As a result, as the newspaper wrote, a “police state” will be created in Ukraine, which is necessary to “create conditions for a nationwide referendum on joining Russia.”
The Russian authorities have repeatedly denied accusations of impending aggression against Ukraine. As stated in the Foreign Ministry, Bild with its article “crossed all possible boundaries of real morality, morality and ethics.”

Prime Minister of Ukraine Shmygal: panic destroys states better than tanks and machine guns “aligncenter” src=”https://s0.rbk.ru/v6_top_pics/media/img/2/29/756447003562292.jpg” alt=”Prime Minister of Ukraine warned citizens against panic” />
Premier -Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal
A hybrid war has been waged against Ukraine for many years, but citizens should not panic, since such sentiments are the best way to destroy the state. Prime Minister Denys Shmigal stated this in his video message to the Ukrainians.
“The gas crisis in Europe, the weakening of the hryvnia exchange rate, cyber attacks on government resources, massive pseudo-mining of infrastructure facilities, paid rallies. These are all elements of a hybrid war. And the scariest of them— disinformation and panic. We live in a world of rapid information dissemination, when panic for the enemy— present. It is panic that destroys states better than tanks and machine guns, — he said.
According to him, the times when the Ukrainian army was weak have already passed. “It's not 2014, it's 2022! Our army is strong, our position in the international arena is strong, — said the Prime Minister.
Shmyhal also said that Ukraine feels confident in the economic sphere. “There are no real macroeconomic reasons for destabilizing the hryvnia exchange rate. Let's not create them ourselves, — he pointed out.
A new round of escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine has been going on for several months. Western countries accuse Russia of preparing a full-scale invasion and threaten new sanctions. A day earlier, US President Joe Biden, in talks with NATO allies, said that the “invasion” could happen on February 16, a Politico source reported.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also admitted that Russia could invade Ukraine at any time— including before the end of the Olympics in China, which will end on February 20. “We are in a position where an invasion could start at any moment,” — he described the situation.
In Russia, the fears of the United States and other Western countries disagree, rejecting the existence of any plans to invade Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry assured that they consider “even a thought” about the war between Russia and Ukraine is unacceptable. Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev called the judgments about the threat to Ukraine from Russia “complete nonsense.”

According to the Russian President, the purposeful pumping of weapons to Ukraine by Western countries encourages possible provocations by the Ukrainian security forces both in relation to Donbass and Crimea
Russian President Vladimir Putin told his American counterpart Joe Biden that the West is not exerting proper pressure on Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements. This was stated by the assistant to the Russian leader Yuri Ushakov, RBC correspondent reports.
“Our president drew attention to the danger of militarization of Ukraine, its pumping with modern weapons, which Western countries are purposefully doing, thereby encouraging possible provocations by the Ukrainian security forces both in relation to Donbass and in relation to Crimea,” — he said.
Ushakov also noted that there is no “due pressure” on the part of Western states; so that Kiev fulfills its obligations.
The presidential aide added that, in general, the heads of state agreed that the views expressed by Biden would be carefully considered in Moscow and, if possible, taken into account in the reaction to the position documents received from the US and NATO. “Our reaction will be brought to the attention of partners and the public,” — he pointed out.
At the same time, Biden, in a conversation with Putin, pointed out to him that Russia was building up forces on the border with Ukraine and said that Washington was ready both for further diplomatic cooperation with Moscow and for other scenarios. “President Biden stressed that further Russian invasion of Ukraine would lead to massive human suffering and weaken Russia's position,” noted in a White House statement.
Putin and Biden phoned a day earlier amid another escalation in eastern Ukraine and talked for about an hour. The Kremlin called the American side the initiator of the contact, but a Reuters source in the Biden administration said that Moscow had approached them with a proposal for talks on Monday.
On February 12, a Politico source said that Biden, in a conversation with European heads of state and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia is preparing a military invasion of Ukraine on February 16. At the same time, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Friday that the alleged Russian attack could begin before the end of the Beijing Olympics (February 20).
After that, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke by phone with the American colleague Lloyd Austin and discussed security issues “of mutual interest”. Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, in turn, noted that the statements of American officials about the situation around Ukraine are not based on anything and are designed to “raise the degree of the propaganda campaign” and give the impression that the invasion is inevitable.

Shoigu was photographed with Wallace in front of a painting with Zhukov and Eisenhower in Berlin alt=”Shoigu was photographed with Wallace in front of a picture with the allies in Berlin” />
During a meeting in Moscow, Russian and British Defense Ministers Sergei Shoigu and Ben Wallace were photographed in front of a picture depicting the commanders-in-chief of the allied forces during World War II against the backdrop of the Reichstag in Berlin.
During his visit to Moscow, Wallace visited an exhibition dedicated to the history of military cooperation between the USSR and the allied states during the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition, among other things, presents a picture with the commanders of the allied forces: British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, US Army General Dwight Eisenhower, Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov and General of the French Army Jean de Tassigny in front of the Reichstag.
The exhibition, according to the Ministry of Defense Russia, talks about the mutual assistance of the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition in the fight against Nazi Germany. On it you can see original exhibits from the funds of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of Russia, as well as copies of illustrations and documentary material.
Talks of the heads of military departments were held on February 11 in Moscow. Wallace said that he considers them constructive, and the dialogue between defense ministers did not look like “a conversation between a deaf person and a dumb person”, like the meeting of Russian and British Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Liz Truss that took place the day before.
Shoigu noted during the negotiations that cooperation between Russia and the UK is at a zero level and Moscow would not want it to “go into the red.” Wallace replied that the meeting of the two ministers could start “a relationship that was practically zero.”

According to him, dozens of foreigners are denied entry to Ukraine every day for various reasons, such as lack of necessary documents or lack of confirmation of the purpose of the visit. Among such foreigners there are also Russians.
The next aggravation of the situation in Ukraine began after Politico, citing a source, reported the details of a conversation between US President Joe Biden and NATO allies. Solving the situation around Ukraine through diplomacy remains possible, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a press conference. The broadcast of the event is available on the YouTube channel of the US Department of State.
He stressed that Moscow could show readiness for a diplomatic way of resolving the conflict through the withdrawal of troops from the borders with Ukraine. “She [Russia] should deal with de-escalation, not escalation,” — Blinken believes.
At the same time, he noted that the threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine is high enough and inevitable to order the departure of most of the staff of the US Embassy in Kiev. Nevertheless, key members of the diplomatic mission will remain in Ukraine.
According to Blinken, Russia could use “provocation or incident” to to justify aggression against Ukraine. Previously, this possibility was allowed in the White House and the Pentagon.
The day before, US President Joe Biden, during negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, said that he was an adherent of the diplomatic path. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Biden “set out a number of considerations that he believes take into account many of Russia's concerns.” The nature of the conversation was “quite balanced and business-like,” Ushakov said.
The State Department also said that Blinken, during a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, made it clear that “The diplomatic path to resolve the crisis remains open, but this will require Moscow to de-escalate and discuss in good faith.” In doing so, he warned of a “strong, massive and unified transatlantic response”; in the event of Moscow's aggression towards Ukraine.
Moscow denies accusations of preparing an invasion of Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Russia is not at war and does not intend to be at war with Ukraine. “We will not fight with Ukraine, I promise you,” — he claimed. The minister also accused the US and its allies of launching a “propaganda campaign” against Russia, warning that such actions encourage Kiev to a military solution to the situation in the east of the country.
Amid growing tensions, the authorities of some states, including the United States, advised their citizens to refuse to travel to Ukraine, and those already there— leave the country. On February 11, US President Joe Biden made such an appeal to Americans, saying that “the situation could get out of control very quickly.”
The next day, the State Department ordered American diplomats in Kiev not to occupy critical positions, leave Ukraine.
