Bubbles and teddy bears: dining out in a pandemic

Greek restaurants are using salt and pepper sachets inside of shakers, and menus are either thrown away after each meal or are laminated and wiped down regularly. May 28, 2020

Dining at a table where each person is enclosed by a clear plastic shield might look and sound futuristic, but it could be one way for some restaurants to reopen. The shields are just one measure that restaurants around the world are testing as they prepare to reopen. Some tavernas have staff in matching face masks. It is awaiting approval from authorities to open if it meets safety standards. Italian restaurants are using contact tracing. Thibault Camus/AP

From space-holding mannequins to disposable menus to plastic domes suspended over tables, restaurateurs worldwide are getting creative in order to protect their patrons from the coronavirus. Manzoni said.Makers of the Plex’eat say they have received more than 200 preorders around the world, including from France, the United States, and Japan.Designer Christophe Gernigon said he got the idea after visiting a store in Bangkok “with three individual domes with chairs where people would sit and listen to music.”He merged the idea with the large face shields that have proliferated since the pandemic began, although there is no filtration system to keep any viruses from spreading.Being French, there’s a version for more intimate dining, of course: a dome that cocoons its occupants in romantic isolation from the rest of the room.Among other revamped restaurants across Europe:
At El Salamanca, a Barcelona beachfront restaurant known for paella, menus are gone and customers use their smart phones to scan a QR code to consult what is on offer. They also ensure a cozy, less-sterile atmosphere. At Amsterdam’s Mediamatic restaurant, the owners have erected small glass houses that surround each table, served by waiters in protective shields. While many restaurants offered take-out and delivery during the health crisis to keep generating at least some income, such practices are less common in France, although Michelin starred chefs such as Alain Ducasse have started doing take-out service.Owners are seeking solutions that will coax back customers while also easing their anxiety about catching the virus.Mathieu Manzoni, the director of H.A.N.D, said he thinks the plastic shields are a “pretty, more poetic” solution for restaurateurs who fear that social distancing could cut their capacity by half or more.“There is a bit of a panic,” Mr. Some of its faux diners are dressed casually, while others look as though they are at a ball. The clothes showcase the work of local fashion designers.“We want to fill the space with fun things,” said owner Patrikas Ribas. They are being showcased temporarily at H.A.N.D., a Parisian restaurant seeking a way to reopen its dining room as coronavirus restrictions are relaxed. As restaurateurs around the world seek to resume in-person dining amid the pandemic, they want to adhere to social distancing rules while also trying to serve as many customers as health and safety measures will allow. Some are putting mannequins at every other table to put some space between the actual customers, like at Augustas and Barbora, a restaurant in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius. It also might help out if your companion orders escargots, heavy on the garlic. The prototype plastic shields are known as the “Plex’eat,” and they resemble big clear lampshades suspended from the ceiling. Many waiters have face shields. As Georgia reopens, is it creating a model for America?Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Simasius called the initiative a “perfect match of communal spirit and creativity working side by side.”In Hofheim, Germany, the Beef’n Beer is using large teddy bears seated at some tables to keep diners properly spaced apart. Diners are supposed to reserve tables ahead of time and owners are keeping their contact information: If someone subsequently reports testing positive, the restaurant can quickly identify and contact those who ate there at the same time. In the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, a restaurant on the banks of the Volga and Oka rivers has set up 20 plastic huts for couples. Loading… Some coffee bars in central Rome also are attaching stylish arched glass partitions to divide tabletops down the middle.

For US-China relations, a day of reckoning

It could count on strong military, political, and economic bonds with other democracies, and the international weight of its democratic example. For now, at least, Washington seems much less interested in this “soft power,” and ties with its allies have been fraying badly. There’s also been another change. During the Cold War, the U.S. relied not just on its own strength. China, on the other hand, shows every sign of a continued determination to widen its global influence.

Tensions in Washington’s relationship with Beijing have been bubbling for some time, but now they seem to be coming to a head. officials charged. also painfully underscored mounting concerns about the West’s relationship with China. On the political front, once President Xi’s government got COVID-19 under control he resisted calls for an independent inquiry into its origins, while also reframing the public narrative to contrast China’s “success” with the failure of Western democracies to stem the pandemic effectively.Economically, the initial Chinese shutdown underlined the dependence of many U.S. A full break would mean major economic and financial costs for both sides. In the U.S., these were embodied by the election of President Trump on his “America First” platform; in China, by the shift from a collective, more rules-based and open system in the early 2000s to the rule of President Xi Jinping. No international relationship matters more. And Chinese President Xi Jinping has imposed the strictest regimen of Communist Party rule since Mao Zedong’s day.The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare how dependent many U.S. By far the majority of these items were now made in China. There are already signs of reassessment. Europe, too, is looking at ways of strengthening its own capacity to produce strategically important goods, as well as to forestall possible efforts by Chinese firms to buy Western businesses weakened during the pandemic. The longer-term question is whether we’re headed for something like the Cold War with the old Soviet Union. In one sense, the parallel is illusory. Now, in order to deal effectively with tomorrow’s top challenge – climate change – the U.S. In one sense, that may have been inevitable: The virus got its start in the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the authorities initially tried to hide it.But the political and economic shockwaves that the pandemic spread in Europe and the U.S. One example: In 2014, the toppling of the pro-Moscow government in Ukraine was followed by Russia’s military intervention, its annexation of Crimea, and a systematic tightening of Western sanctions. For the U.S.-China relationship, COVID-19 has played a similar role. Where China had once been largely a source for lower-cost consumer goods, it had grown into a modern and increasingly high-tech economy: the world’s second largest. And a series of recent developments – such as the way President Donald Trump has made criticism of China a centerpiece of his reelection campaign and Beijing’s move to impose tough new security legislation on Hong Kong – suggest we’re at a critical pivot point.Tensions had been building long before COVID, mind you.On the U.S. That’s an especially serious risk now, coming on top of the huge damage already done by shutdowns aimed at stemming COVID’s spread. But at the very least, a fundamental reassessment seems inevitable. Since coming to power in 2012, he has consolidated his authority, done away with presidential term limits and instituted the most pervasive regimen of Communist party control since the rule of Mao Zedong.    But sometimes in international relations, a single event or crisis does more than aggravate existing tensions. China has staked out a military presence in the South China Sea and, through its Belt and Road infrastructure-building initiative, has made itself felt economically and diplomatically across central and south Asia and in Africa and Europe. Jefferson Muserera, who plays contestant Simba T, prepares for a take on the set of "Cook Off" with camera assistant Dennis Denya Madyira. First released in 2017, the romantic comedy let Zimbabweans see themselves on the big screen, and eventually won over audiences, including Netflix executives. “We wanted to make something authentically Zimbabwean,” says director Tomas Brickhill. As Georgia reopens, is it creating a model for America?“There are so many barriers holding us back, and so many odds against us as African actors and filmmakers,” says Tendaiishe Chitima, who plays Anesu. ‘Cook Off’ heats up: Netflix debut a triumph for Zimbabwe film

Why We Wrote This

People often look to popular culture for reflections of themselves. Brickhill knew the ins and outs of the contest well. Among the biggest barriers in Zimbabwe, of course, is money. Actors sometimes missed call times because they got caught in   the police tear gas being used to break up anti-government protests in Zimbabwe’s capital in the dying days of Robert Mugabe’s 37-year rule. So it wasn’t much of a leap for him to fictionalize his reality show experience for the big screen. “But at the same time, we wanted it to be something the rest of the world could identify with, too.”

Everything about “Cook Off” was a long shot. The film’s plot, for one. And although his replacement was his former right-hand man, Zimbabweans were jubilant at the prospect of a new dawn for their country. “We really wanted to do a feel-good romantic comedy to say, our lives look like this, too. Feature films made in the country are often donor-financed, with the stipulation that they tackle a pressing social issue like HIV, homelessness, or teen pregnancy.“We often have this super-serious heavy content coming out of Zimbabwe,” says “Cook Off” director Tomas Brickhill. We should be allowed to fall in love on screen, too.”   As a director of the real-life “Battle of the Chefs” competition, Mr. “I just feel like I’m way, way out of my depth.”But if the fictional Anesu was out of her depth, the film’s crew was even more so. And when it came time to screen the final cut in December 2017, the crew chose the roof of a hotel in the capital Harare, not because it was a hip open-air venue, but because they couldn’t afford to rent out a cinema. Several crew members shared the director’s small house, which also doubled as part of the set. It told a story of near-impossible odds, following a single mother and amateur chef as she duked it out with an ensemble of professionals to try to   win a Zimbabwean reality TV cooking competition called “Battle of the Chefs.”   “It’s just so much harder than I imagined,” confesses Anesu to a fellow competitor after nearly being eliminated from the show. When Netflix announced earlier this month that it had acquired its first feature film made in Zimbabwe, “Cook Off,” it felt to the cast and crew like the movie’s plot had jumped the screen into their real lives. The total budget for “Cook Off” – which follows an amateur chef as she dukes it out with professionals to try to win a reality TV cooking competition – was about as much as a decent used car. But even before Netflix bought “Cook Out,” which will go live on the streaming service June 1, the film’s trajectory was, well, cinematic. Mugabe, was muscled out of office by his former vice president in a coup. What was far tougher was putting together a feature-length film with an initial cash budget of $8,000, supplemented by deals to offset the costs of gear and film set. “Obviously a few years later we can see not much has changed for Zimbabwe, but at that moment, it felt like a fresh start.”And the film soon had momentum of its own, screening at a dozen international film festivals and garnering fans from Los Angeles to Rotterdam in the Netherlands to Durban, South Africa. “There was a big push from the new government to say, ‘We want to be more open; we want to allow more freedom of expression,’ and our film got caught up in that momentum,” Ms. Loading… Government power cuts would arrive in the middle of filming, and to save money, several crew members shared the director’s small house, which also doubled as part of the set.So when Netflix announced earlier this month that it had licensed the streaming rights to the 2017 film – the first time in the streaming service’s history that it had acquired   a feature film made in Zimbabwe – it felt to the cast and crew like the movie’s plot had jumped the screen into their real lives. “We wanted to make something authentically Zimbabwean,” says “Cook Off” director Tomas Brickhill (left), posing with one of the movie’s producers, Joe Njagu. Chitima says. The total budget for “Cook Off,” a romantic comedy, was about as much as a decent used car.
A film that let Zimbabweans see themselves – their tin-roofed neighborhoods, their skeptical mothers, plates stacked with meat and pillowy clouds of sadza, a local starch – on the big screen, he says. “We wanted to make something authentically Zimbabwean,”   says Mr. Audiences around the world were sucked into the love story, the reality show drama, and most of all, the story of an underdog who made it big in an improbable way. Brickhill. “But at the same time, we wanted it to be something the rest of the world could identify with, too.”   And it worked, he says.

Gianmaria Testa – Lasciami Andare Lyrics

I didn’t come to say goodbye
Because I don’t know
The proper tone for a goodbye
Or even the words
For the occasion
Or where to put my hands
Where to look
Which wall of the room
To look at
I didn’t come to say goodbye
I didn’t come to say goodbye
Because I don’t understand
The proper time for a goodbye
That finds the right words
And bridges distance
And then frees your hands
And lets you look
Beyond the wall of a room
Look
I didn’t come to say goodbye
We’ll never retrace
Our steps, never
There will no longer be room
Not even in hiding
In days past, never
We’ll never come back
Or only to remember
That the time of memory
Is the time of delay
And it doesn’t make things come back
Let me go
I didn’t come to say goodbye
Though now I can see it
The proper tone for a goodbye
And I know the words
For the occasion
And I can shake hands
And I can look at
Any wall in a room
Look…
We’ll never come back…

Linoskiii – Casablanca Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I don’t really want to say much, I’ll let the beats speak
As my homie, Frank John turns this sample to a beat
But, I’m a mellow, jello fellow, smooth flows
Soothe those eardrums daily, until they soon grow
Out the music that they’re accustomed to
All attention on me when I bust a few notes
And I hit them perfectly, to a perfect pitch
A certain effort wrestles when i’m on this shit
Lino Skywalker, the captain of his own battleship
I’m off to war until I drown in a bottomless abyss of self misery
And I’m passionless, until the world judges me on my callousness
My life used to be colorful, but now my life is colorless
Sorta like an old school cinema film
[Outro]
(If I describe it right, I see the world in black and white
I see the world in black and white
Black and white, black and white)

Noxious Emotion – X Lyrics

Breakout a strange ideal
The breeding grounds are people in crowds
Artifact discovered caused by human future
Positions the mystery of life
A major shift that goes nowhere
Pandemic disease, investigate the samples
Concluded analysis a probable ancestor to descendants
Applying the pressure, a virus grows uncontrollably
Another disease waiting to happen
Infection of the species
Not human, one to the other
Growing in strength
Forming mutation
A new era as we learn
As new strands appear, increased surveylance
Close proximity to the disease
A regional question
The interesting part killing the strong
While most infected traveling freely
Molecular pathology determined
Sequence to the mystery of life
This is how the world ends
Not with a bang, but with a whimper

Brasstracks – Everything I Got Lyrics

Instead of keepin’ all the letters in front of me, I’d rather keep jumpin’
From fling to fling to thing to thing and then I keep runnin’, uh
See I can have the best thing in my life, I don’t ever keep nothin’
But baby, keep the beat bumpin’
[Pre-Chorus]
Because I been searchin’ for that someone new
Who’s gon’ keep on turnin’ me out
Drop everything that I got, aw, listen to me
You been waitin’ for me to come and
Sweep you off of your feet
But I’m still stuck, focused on me, aw, baby, baby
Know that you deserve better, I could do better
She said…
[Chorus]
I’m givin’ you everything got
My heart, my soul, my time, and my love
You can’t spend all of the money that you want
I need to someone to get me around
So call me when you ready to belong next to me
Like I know you can be, pay attention to me
‘Cause you know that I know that we got somethin’ that most never feel
So baby, let’s keep it real
And I can feel this shit comin’ (Woo), uh
The day you wouldn’t take it, sick and tired of entertaining all of this fronting, uh
So you deserve tighter hugs, the type of love that make you wanna scream it out loud
And no more imitating, I can take you, baby, give me all of your lovin’
And I can make you keep coming, aw baby, babe
[Pre-Chorus]
Because I been searchin’ for that someone new
Who’s gon’ keep on turnin’ me out
Drop everything that I got, aw, listen to me
And you been waitin’ for me to come and
Sweep you off of your feet
Anything that bring you closer to me, aw, baby, baby (Yeah)
I know that you deserve better, and I’ma better
And she said…
[Chorus]
I’m givin’ you everything got
My heart, my soul, my time, and my love
And you can’t spend all of the money that you want
I need to someone to get me around
So call me when you ready to belong next to me
Like I know you can be, pay attention to me
‘Cause you know that I know that we got somethin’ that most never feel
So baby, let’s keep it real
[Outro]
Aw, baby, baby
I know that you deserve better
And we gon’ do better (I can do better)
Aw, baby, baby [Verse 1]
Now tell me, ain’t this shit funny?

Stereo Total – Alaska Lyrics

Je suis un robot
Je suis une machine
Je suis un frigo
Appelle-moi Alaska
En métal, en acier
En ferraille, toute glacée
Un monstre de B.D
Engin téléguidé
Moi qui croyais à tes contes de fées
Quelle gamine stupide
Je me hais, je me hais
Ah quelle belle conne je fais
Ridicule je sais
Alors appelle-moi Alaska
Je suis un robot
Je suis une machine
Je suis un frigo
Appelle-moi Alaska
En métal, en acier
Ferraille, alu glacé
Un monstre de B.D
Engin téléguidé
Je suis glacée
Vexée, verglacée
J’ai ruiné ma jeunesse
Oh pour toi sale ingrat
Mais tout cela te laisse
Complètement froid, froid, froid
Vas-y, appelle-moi Alaska
Je suis un robot …
En métal, en acier
En ferraille, toute glacée
Un monstre de B.D

Low Cut Connie – Somewhere Along The Avenue Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I remember when the fire was hot
When time was not so tight
Somewhere along the avenue
They musta gotten to you with their lies
[Pre-Chorus]
I don’t ever wanna let you down
Sometimes everybody gotta slow down

I can’t make it without you
I don’t know if I want to

And I’ll, I’ll be good to you
[Verse 2]

Gio – Gio Lyrics

Once again is Christmas time,
And I miss someone so much,
I remember all the years
That we happened all together. I’m loosing all control
Now I don’t feel alone
You really make me smile this Christmas
Oh! Oh! I never could know
That I belong to you
You really make me smile this Christmas
If I go turn back in past
I can see the bright lights
On the street, around my head
With my family and my friends
All the people round and round
Dancing, having some for lunch
I don’t what happen now
That I lost it all in time
But tonight
That I’m older,
I feel down,
And then you came
Into my life
To raise up my pain. I just can say. Oh! I just can say. When I was a little child,
All the emotions, the surprise
About knowing what will be
For me under the Christmas tree. But tonight
That I’m older,
I feel down,
And then you came
Into my life
To raise up my pain. I never could know
That I belong to you
You really make me smile this Christmas
But tonight
That I’m older,
I feel down,
And then you came
Into my life
To raise up my pain. I’m loosing all control
Now I don’t feel alone
You really make me smile this Christmas
Oh! I’m loosing all control
Now I don’t feel alone
You really make me smile this Christmas
Oh! I never could know
That I belong to you
You really make me smile this Christmas I just can say. Oh!

Radical Dads – Symmetrical Cement Circles Lyrics

I will learn to bet
On the fast ones
I will learn to bet
On the last ones
I will learn to bet
On the fast ones
I will learn to bet
On the last ones
And all you have to do is keep your eyes on me
All you have to do is keep your eyes on me
All you have to do is keep your eyes on me
My mind has double vision
Making the split decision
Symmetrical division
Cement circle repetition
My mind has double vision
Making the split decision

Linoskiii – Beat Tapes Lyrics

I let my demons play with devils of my lifestyle
Just to feel excitement and thriller, maybe I might smile
A night out with no rest, you can see here
Happiness is rare, but all they ever see, tears
Hoping it’s a moment in my broken life that hopefully will pass with time
But time ain’t passing fast enough for master of disaster with the rapture when I’m plastered
Trying to reach my dreams, but don’t know what the hell I’m after
My conscious, always talking nonsense
Slawed by humanity, the man in me is offset, pause it
Let my lyrics sink inside your mindset
My content, has you straight tripping when I drop shit
A killer on the mic when I’m onset
To everyone that chat with their kid with a Latin accent
They say I’m callous, but my music says otherwise
Cos everyone that listens to my album gets butterflies
Somehow when I’m alone, I always feel my healthiest
And wonder if it’s wrong for a man to feel this emptiness
Inside of him embracing it, with open arms he says:
“I rather be a lone wolf than have a million friends
And I’d rather die in my room with twenty-three cassettes
Each for every year I lived with beats catered in my name”
I roam alone, in my zone with my solitude
And make my presence known when I flow with great magnitude
I put a record on, play it to the break of dawn
Accompanied by beats that I manifest to songs
That’s why I’m never lonely, son
I got my beat tapes and three takes
I take the whole scene like it’s a sweepstakes
You should be my friend just to be safe
Listen to my songs, automatically I seem great
And when I’m dead and you’re missing my haikus
Just know that I’m alive when you listen to my tunes

Noxious Emotion – LoveShocked Lyrics

Chest pains
Alcohol poisoned
Pretending nothing is wrong
I’m young enough to rebound
Is that how Jimmy felt? f*ck this shit
It hurts trying to sleep
Awake til 3 a.m
The noises bumping in my room
Louder in my head
Resistance to surroundings
Body’s non-resistant mold breaking in on itself
Decayed cardiac arrest
The pulsing beat soothes this burning chest pain
Yellow liver
Diseased, nicotine coated mucus cough
Get me back on the track
Take this beer from my hand
Over my dead body
This disease is part of me
Nailing shut my coffin with tar and nicotine
A caffine enriched nightmare
Muscle spasm twitch…stop
The blood ceases to flow
Blackout of vision
Fading to black again
Then nothing infinite nothing

Woyza – Ahora Lyrics

[Letra de “Ahora”]
[Verso 1]
[Puente]
Expresando puro amor, sí
Expresando puro amor, oh
Expresando puro amor, mmm, oh
Expresando puro amor, oh sí…
[Verso 4]
Ahora sé que el odio es el temor por no enfrentarse
A pegar el salto hacia la luz, oh sí, y estirarse bien
Sólo vuelve a resurgir, sin volver a encasillarse
Tal y como eres, eres al ser, a ti mismo te hieres
[Puente]
Cambia todo por amor
Cambia todo por amor, oh sí
Haz de tu vida amor, oh sí
Pon en tu vida amor, mmm
Cambia todo por amor… Oh
Cambia todo por amor, oh sí, oh
Cambia todo por amor, oh, ah…

Show Me The Body – Aspirin Lyrics

[Verse 2]
Keep ya still pilled up, f*ck it’s another drill, another deal
Another kill, degradation of the kidney wheel
Eyes closed, shit is sealed, sterile, make me heal
Read again, see the bet stacked against ya life
New cause to money death, get ya knuckles right
The lie is in-between your eyes, they dressed ya up in bottle white
No more need for razorblades, I take the pain away
[Verse 3]
Believe me I can’t body impounded, but that’s where I found it
Ascetic, this prophylactic, balance me, rot me, quixotic
Cause I look clean, you make me sick
f*ck, come crush me up, crush me up and take a sniff
Life broken at the hip, do a flip, do a split
Fit yourself or have a fit, I really got the tightest SWAT
Gasoline, take a sip, keep drinking, never stop
This pain is just a pop away
[Verse 4]
I’m surrounded like the RX up to the neck
Tell me to step back, I’ll step back
Hell, can’t lose a body war when I get bad
I tell myself that, and then I hit back
I’m surrounded like the RX in the paraffin
Big head looking in, pass the kerosene
Power lines to nothing, property destructing
Take me again, I’ll tell you when
Tryna dress us bottle-white, side world sterile tight, keeps us feral up at night, kill us in a f*cking fight
f*ck your world I decide [Verse 1]
Drywall
In pain, ask for aspirin
That’s drywall, they’ll come back again
Homemade product, part of them
When I really pass out, nothing but I promise the ‘tonin
Live again, broken, homies telling me to open
I’m like yo, who are them, how’d they get inside my blood
I’m tryna be like how I was, surrounded like the RX
How could f*cks covet this, especially when they get at mine?

Brothers Of Brazil – Melodies From Hell Lyrics

I’m just sitting by myself
Tonight, oh well
Pulling melodies from hell
And off the shelf
Coming up with something new
Sounding cool to me and you
Coming up with something new
Sounding cool to me and you
Those melodies from hell
The beat that I’m compelled
Those melodies from hell
They serve the story well
Those melodies from hell
They sing the song and tell
The beat that I’m compelled
Those melodies from hell
I’m just sitting by myself
Tonight, oh well
Pulling melodies from hell
And off the shelf
Coming up with something new
Sounding cool to me and you
Coming up with something new
Sounding cool to me and you
Those melodies from hell
The beat that I’m compelled
Those melodies from hell
They serve the story well
Those melodies from hell
They sing the song and tell
The beat that I’m compelled
Those melodies from hell

Gianmaria Testa – La Giostra Lyrics

I had a strange dream
A morning dream
A weird and truthful dream
That I woke up and was still a little boy
And was setting off, my bed a sailing-ship
On one side there was the sea
And on the other practically nothing
A storm was puffing the sails
I was flying over people’s hats
I was shouting to the world, and the world was a carousel
Tell me if you believe me
And if you believe me, wait for me because
If I ever come back
I’ll come back to you
Tell me if you believe me
And if you believe me wait for me
That way, if I come back
You’ll already be here
A cannon’s mouth
Was spitting cannonballs and fire
And there was a red cat at a window
Almost as if it were a game, he was watching
People falling off the carousel
They were falling into the streets
But without making much noise
Like leaves in the November wind
And the red cat’s heart grew sad
But he stayed at the window, as always
Tell me if you believe me
And if you believe me, wait for me
That way, if I come back
You’ll already be here

Linoskiii – Take Me With You Lyrics

That deep inside I was screaming ’til my soul left
And felt it leave my body in a relatively cold breath
And my cousin’s doing good, that’s your daughter
After all, she had you to idolize as her father
The fam can talk shit and say you were a drunk
But regardless of it all, I just remember all your love
And I just made this song to tell you that I love you
Cos I never got to tell you that in person Take me with you
Tell me how much longer
Cos since you’ve been away I’ve only tried to remain stronger
A different entity, I guess it was your destiny
I only ask that you watch over me, don’t stop protecting me
I miss you much, never did you hold a grudge
And it gets hard to implement some of your teachings
But you watch
I’m slowly getting there
Later I’ll get grayish hair and maybe then I’ll understand the visions for which once you cared
You never got to see me graduate from high school
And sometimes with your absence I do feel like this life’s cruel
But now I’ve learned to move forward on my own tip
Learned to deal with things better, finally got life’s grip
I loved you dearly and I always did acknowledge
The fact that you were really proud to know I’d go to college
And a recent graduate, just received my bachelor’s
Learned to play the life game, but next to you I’m amateur
Still the saddest on this planet with your absence
Didn’t shed a tear at your funeral, but fact is..

Noxious Emotion – Nobelium Lyrics

Superstition takes many forms
Bigotry takes even more
Standing at the pulpit of greed
Spreading this lovely hate
This lovely hate
With every word you say
You prove your ignorance
Your intolerance
With every lie you make
You prove your arrogance
Your indifference
Like fire I will burn
Like fire I will burn
Like fire I will burn
Like fire I will burn
With this first breath of air I am born
As the elements take form
With the count zero reset return
Like fire I will burn
As the water fills my lungs
As a symbol that life is done
And the earth my grave with no sound
As I’m buried in this hallowed ground
Buried in this hallowed ground
Buried in this hallowed ground
Buried in this hallowed ground
Buried in this hallowed ground
With this first breath of air I am born
As the elements take form
With the count zero reset return
Like fire I will burn
As the water fills my lungs
As a symbol that life is done
And the earth my grave with no sound
As I’m buried in this hallowed ground
With every word you say
You prove your ignorance
Your intolerance
With every lie you make
You prove your arrogance
Your indifference
Air fire water earth
Air fire water earth
Air fire water earth
Air fire water earth
Birth life death eternity
